Re-read: W. Todd Kaneko’s “B-Movie” (Cheap Pop 5/8/14)

The line between flash fiction and prose poetry is razor thin. Depending on which side of the divide you reside on, how you demarcate one piece from another will vary. Regardless the debate, the short prose form’s popularity has only increased due to such online literary magazines as Whiskeypaper, Smoke Long JournalLittle Fiction, and Cheap Pop.

The close-up and condensed moment can be articulated in W. Todd Kaneko’s “B-Movie” from Cheap Pop.  Full of pop culture convention and midnight movie spirit, Kaneko’s work occupies that space which both prose and poetry claim as their own.
